MyTucsonEvents.com Goes Live March 1Web site provides coordinating calendars for special events of all kinds; first 1,000 events may be listed FREE OF CHARGETucson, Arizona (February 12, 2007)- Beginning March 1, event planners and those who want to know what's going on in town will have a rich new resource. On that date, during KGUN-9's Good Morning Tucson television broadcast, a new website, MyTucsonEvents.com, will go live-and the first 1,000 events added to any calendar on the site will be free of charge. Coordinating calendars include "Major Events," "Music," "Galas & Fundraisers," events for Children & Families, Health & Wellness, Faith Communities activities and more. KGUN-9 is the sponsor for the Major Events calendar, which will be accessible through the KGUN 9 website or, directly, by typing www.mytucsonevents.com. Other calendar sponsors include: TMC HealthCare, Southwest Gas, Desert Diamond Casino, Good News Tucson and the University of Arizona Athletic Department. To take advantage of the free event listing offer, event planners need the name and details of the event, such as date, time, place, benefiting organization (if applicable), a description (up to 300 words), a contact for more information and a photo of the event or the organization's logo. Instead of a photo or logo, event listers can simply type the name of the event into the calendar box for the date of their event. That's all! Each event calendar may be printed out by month for posting at home or the office-and, through the magic of technology, event planners and site visitors may also print attractive event fliers displaying the image and information posted online. Another user-friendly feature of the site is that once an event is listed the lister may return to update the event information at any time, including adding a hot link to the event or sponsor website. After the first 1,000 listings, events can be listed for $10 or less. Anyone can visit the site, browse the listings and print event fliers and monthly calendars at no charge. However, registration is required to ensure compliance with the site's rules of use. Registrants also receive a free, password protected personal calendar to enable them to remember birthdays, anniversaries and other important dates. Personal images (jpg, jpeg, and gif) can be added and, with a single click, any event listed on the entire web site can be added to a personal calendar. MyTucsonEvents.com was developed by 365 L.L.C. in conjunction with NetOutcomes, a Tucson-based Website development company, owned by Dave Tedlock to help coordinate the many attractive activities our area has to offer. |
